SASD District Logo
The SASD district logo featured at the top of our navigation column was designed by high school art teacher Chris Martin at the request of district administration. Mr. Martin teamed with students Emmy Erisman (Class of 2017) and Natalie Nye (Class of 2016) who developed additional branding for district documents and other stationery. This in-house team collaborated during the 2014-2015 school year and the resulting graphics and supporting materials were provided to the school district at no charge.
The logo is an abstracted three-dimensional block and symbolizes the district's commitment to providing students and the community with a sound foundation that enriches the whole child. It was created to complement the district's greyhound mascot. As part of the branding development, the team recommended two typefaces for use in district documents due to their significant savings in ink and toner. Century Gothic and Garamond are fonts that have been identified by the U.S. government's General Services Administration as using as much as 30% less ink and toner when compared to more traditionally utilized fonts like Arial or Times New Roman.
The updated district brand was adopted and rolled out at the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year.
